Msc. in Machine Learning, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

Machine Learning, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (known as Macadamia) is a two-year, 120 ECTS major inside Aalto University's Master's Programme in Computer, Communication and Information Sciences, taught in English and awarding a Master of Science (Technology). Studies combine 60 ECTS of major courses with 30 ECTS of electives and a 30 ECTS thesis, running from compulsory Supervised Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Deep Generative Models into options such as Bayesian Data Analysis, Probabilistic Machine Learning, Federated Learning and Computer Vision, with room to go deeper into Digital Health, Speech and Language or Large-Scale Computing. Teaching is hands-on and sits close to research at Aalto's Department of Computer Science and the Finnish Center for Artificial Intelligence, and students can spend the second year at EURECOM or Grenoble INP for a double degree. It is built for applicants with a strong bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, including university-level mathematics and programming, who are heading for roles such as data scientist, machine learning engineer or software engineer, or on to doctoral study.
