The Master's program in Automotive Technology at TU/e trains engineers to treat modern vehicles as integrated systems of mechanical, electronic, sensor and software components, in an industry being reshaped by sustainable and smart mobility. The two-year, 120 ECTS program is taught by a partnership of five TU/e departments: a 30 ECTS core covering vehicle dynamics, powertrains, real-time software systems engineering, automotive human factors and a systems engineering project, then 15 ECTS of specialisation courses in either Smart Mobility or Sustainable Mobility, 15 ECTS of electives or homologation, a 15 ECTS internship and a 45 ECTS graduation project. Before starting, each student chooses a research group and is paired with a mentor who helps design an individual curriculum, and the graduation project is often run with a company or research institute in the Brainport high-tech region. It is designed for engineers from mechanical or electrical engineering backgrounds who work well in multidisciplinary teams and want a systems-level route into autonomous driving, electric powertrains, future fuels or automotive human factors.
