KTH's MSc Machine Learning teaches the mathematical and statistical foundations of machine learning alongside the practical skill of matching, applying and implementing those methods on real-world problems. The two-year, 120 ECTS programme is taught in English and opens with mandatory courses in machine learning and artificial intelligence, then splits from the second semester into two course groupings: application domains such as computer vision, information retrieval, speech and language processing, computational biology and robotics, and theoretical courses in applied mathematics, statistics and machine learning. The final semester is a 30-credit degree project run in an academic or industrial environment, with past projects hosted by companies including Saab, Elekta, Ericsson, Spotify and AstraZeneca. It suits students holding a bachelor's degree that already covers mathematics and computer science who are aiming at roles such as data scientist, deep learning or computer vision engineer, or software engineer, or at doctoral studies.
